The Youth Department Players Meeting with Dean Holdsworth
One of the privileges of being a player in the Youth Department's Centre of Excellence and Elite Centre is free admission to the 1st Teams League Two games.
"This is a great privilege and we would like it if all of our Centre of Excellence and Elite Centre players attended every home game, as watching live football is an important part of their learning", believes the COE Manager, Drew Sherman.

It has been fantastic to see many of our Centre of Excellence and Elite Centre players attending games recently in tracksuits, and shows a real commitment from both Dept’s of Youth Football that we’re proud of and we know for a fact it has not gone unnoticed by the first team staff.
For some though the 24th September will be a date to remember for some time. For as well as the day that Aldershot Town were draw at home to Manchester United in the Carling Cup it was the date chosen to be the very first Youth Department Club Tour.
The Club Tour has been designed to bring youth and the main club together by each week offering players the chance to go “backstage at the club’ on match days
This week the boys walked in just as the cup draw was announced so as you can imagine the atmosphere was fantastic. Dean Holdsworth who invited questions on all aspects of the club and first team greeted them. Ben Herd then lead them into the changing room where they met the team each sitting under their respective shirts in the changing room, taking the opportunity to get all the players autographs on programs and shirts.
The boys then went into the Boot/Kit room where they saw a colleague from Centre of Excellence preparing all the boots. There was also time to see the Physio room, Officials room and Away Teams changing room before walking up the tunnel to the pitch and check out the view from the bench. All the boys had a great day.
Each week 5-10 players will be invited on the tour from the Aldershot Town FC Youth Department Players who attend any home League two games free of change.

Ed Vass, Jamie Stocker, Charlie Gunson, Harry Calvert, Tom Smith and Jay Welch all took part in the half time Crossbar Challenge at the Carling Cup tie on Tuesday night.
Not put off by the usual banter from Mark all of the boys came close although it was Ed Vass that managed to hit the crossar with his second shot.
With matches against West Brom next weekend the challenge will be to hit the net - something the players will not need reminding!

Despite the inclement weather we have been experiencing in recent days, the sun shone through at the immaculately presented Arsenal FC Youth Academy this weekend on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Across the age groups a mixture of Elite and COE players gave a some spirited performances.
The hosts by no means had the game all their own way, Aldershot pressed the opposition moving the ball around to keep possession and creating chances of their own. There were some commendable and all were well looked after by their Arsenal hosts.
