"This is a great privilege and we would like it if all of our Centre of Excellence and Elite Centre players attended every home game, as watching live football is an important part of their learning", believes the COE Manager, Drew Sherman.

Aldershot Town FC
Elite Centre
is affiliated to the Hampshire FA
It has been fantastic to see many of our Centre of Excellence and Elite Centre players attending games recently in tracksuits, and shows a real commitment from both Dept’s of Youth Football that we’re proud of and we know for a fact it has not gone unnoticed by the first team staff.
For some though the 24th September will be a date to remember for some time. For as well as the day that Aldershot Town were draw at home to Manchester United in the Carling Cup it was the date chosen to be the very first Youth Department Club Tour.
The Club Tour has been designed to bring youth and the main club together by each week offering players the chance to go “backstage at the club’ on match days
This week the boys walked in just as the cup draw was announced so as you can imagine the atmosphere was fantastic. Dean Holdsworth who invited questions on all aspects of the club and first team greeted them. Ben Herd then lead them into the changing room where they met the team each sitting under their respective shirts in the changing room, taking the opportunity to get all the players autographs on programs and shirts.
The boys then went into the Boot/Kit room where they saw a colleague from Centre of Excellence preparing all the boots. There was also time to see the Physio room, Officials room and Away Teams changing room before walking up the tunnel to the pitch and check out the view from the bench. All the boys had a great day.
Each week 5-10 players will be invited on the tour from the Aldershot Town FC Youth Department Players who attend any home League two games free of change.
The Aldershot Town FC Elite Centre has been set up to develop young players to achieve their full potential.
Here at the club we are passionate about developing young footballers through the delivery of quality coaching and facilities.
All our coaches have an FA qualification with the main coach for each team having at least a Level 2 award. We will be training and playing our home games at the excellent facilities at Ash Manor and the new multi-million pound Surrey Sports Park.
We look to find the best way to help your son by having a comprehensive game program that will include fixtures against Centres of Excellence, Academies of professional clubs, other Elite set-ups and possibly local league clubs. Players will training twice a week and will play fixtures at the weekend against quality opposition.
Aldershot Town FC Elite Centre will work closely with Aldershot Town’s Centre of Excellence to ensure players have every chance for a successful transition from the Elite Centre to the Centre of Excellence should the opportunity arise.
Our Aim is to find first team players for Aldershot Town’s future and we will achieve this by supporting our players to get into the Centre of Excellence.
As well as developing young footballers, we will assist our coaches with their continued development and hope that this combination delivers a fantastic learning environment that is enjoyable for player’s, coaches and parents.
